Proof of Vaccination Policy
Play Sask is implementing a proof of vaccination policy for all members starting Oct. 2
The Government of Saskatchewan says facilities hosting amateur sporting events including recreation leagues are exempt from the proof of vaccination policies that have recently come into place. The government has also said face coverings are not required for adults playing sports as long as a proof of vaccination policy is in place.
Therefore, our policy is requiring that players who don’t want to wear a mask while playing will need to provide proof of vaccination. Players who do not provide proof will be required to continue wearing a mask while playing.
This policy applies to our Wednesday Dodgeball league*, Thursday Soccer league, and Saturday Soccer league. Our Tuesday Dodgeball league is required to follow the YWCA guidelines, which require proof of vaccination to be shown at the front desk each week.
Players at our Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday leagues who would like to play without a mask need to provide the following either to [email protected] or to the coordinator at the first game they attend once this policy is in place:
one piece of personal identification; and
proof that the patron or volunteer is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Providing ID along with a negative COVID-19 test administered within the previous 72 hours will also grant players the privilege of playing without a mask, but only for that day.
Players who aren’t able to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test result need to wear a mask at all times in the facility, including while playing.
Players’ vaccination statuses will be marked in the roster so that vaccinated players don’t need to provide proof at subsequent games. Players who have not provided proof may change their status at any time by providing the accepted identification.
If you send your ID and proof to [email protected], we will record the information in the roster and then delete your email. Proof needs to be received at least 2 hours prior to the first league game that day in order to be approved. You'll receive a response confirming approval.
Please contact the Play Sask team at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.
*Wednesday Dodgeball league pending upon policy approval from the facility.
